Roxanne meets her boyfriend, Lysander Scamander, through unconventional means. Not many girls start by slamming you with a bludger to the back of the head…
Not an unusual feat in and of itself, for a freshly recruited beater. The circumstances under which the events fall however… Lysander was hardly within sight of the practice field. Rather, he was off studying the blooming pattern of a beautiful winter plant called Silverbell, quite a distance away. It comes as a grand (and particularly unwarranted) surprise to all parties involved when the bludger lands its wayward mark. Impressive in hind sight, Roxanne holds onto her convoluted version of the story long after they begin dating (something about snow in her eyes, a line which, without fail, consistently yields a goofy smile from Lysander). She simply has to make it a larger than life story, thickening the descent of the fateful flakes with each recital. After all, Roxanne has her pride as one of Gryffindor’s youngest reigning beaters to defend.
